How to save your budget but still have the nicest wedding cake ever ?

Wedding cake normally cost from RM400 - RM2,000. Even sometimes it can cost more than RM5K. Depends on the size and type of cake.

If you plan to have  simple reception without any pelamin, maybe you can spend more on wedding cake. However, make sure that you assign someone to cut and distribute it to your guest after the cake cutting ceremony... or else u might end up eating that same cake as your breakfast for a week ! :D

Ermmm...how to save ?

1. You can use a simple butter cake/ choc cake instead of fruit /prune cake. You'll be suprised if you know the price difference.

2. Choose plain icing ( nor advisable if the reception in open area ) and decorate with fresh flowers. The main cost involved with a wedding cake is the time it takes for your cake designer to create sugar decorations and hand-piping. To eliminate the extra cost, ask for simple cake and decorate it yourself with beautiful fresh flowers (which are cheaper then confectionary ones).

Sweet kan ??? :)..i likeeeee...

3 . Set your budget...and remember : stick to it . Go according to your budget and also your no of guest. If you order 5 tiers of wedding cake ... but there's only 150 people coming ( and not all wanna eat that cake ! ) do you really think thats necessary ? think .. and think again my dear..
It is very easy, especially in a wedding situation, to get caught up in the extras that will certainly add flair and personalization to your cake, but could eventually leave you in debt. Be reasonable about your budget but keep the number of guests in mind.

4. Ask your caterer, if they can include your wedding cake in the package. If you scared that their design is a little bit 'different' from what u have in mind... then go for a simple design. Just order a plain buttercake...and later ask your florist to add a little bit of fresh flowers on top. You might like the end result esp when it comes with a very good cost.

5. Use a nice cake stand ( rent it ! ). It can make a small cake look bigger and taller.. .

6. Use a nice ribbon for decoration.. keep it simple;opt for a clean design with an impeccably smooth surface. Add simple details such as a Swiss dot pattern or wide ribbon around the base.

7. Or...you can replace flowers with fruits..nice cute tasty fruits...like strawberries !..sgt2 sedap !

So good luck in your wedding planning !

Found this article on color scheme / theme color....hope it helps :

Every detail of your wedding should reflect your favorites, from gown to shoes, flowers to food. By choosing a color scheme right from the start, your wedding decor will reflect your own personal taste and look beautiful in every detail.

The color scheme you select will set the tone for the day and the events surrounding your wedding. You can also add sophistication or simplicity through the colors you select.

Generally, your color scheme will often carry into the attendants' dresses, table settings, and flowers. See our choices for some wonderful color schemes for weddings.

  • All White and Green

    • In weddings, as in life, white is not white and green is not green. Each color has a wide variety of hues from which to choose. But the color combination is a winner and gives you lots of choices, from pure white to ivory to the palest of pinks. If your gown is ivory, it's best to select fabrics for napkins and table skirts, as well as flowers, in a complimentary shade. If you've selected a snow white dress, choose snow white flowers.
    • Some choices for white flowers are iris, sweet pea, peonies, orchids, lilacs, camellias, daisies, and carnations. For a softer hue, look for roses, tulips, fresia, or lily of the valley.

    • When selecting greens, you can go from a fresh lime green to the deep green of camellias or leather leaf ferns. If you want a brighter green, look for leaves from citrus trees, fresh grasses, or green berries.

  • Pink and Red With Green

    • Use pastel or bright pink flowers and add accents of red. Or go the other way around--red flowers with accents of bright or pale pink. Add tones of lavender or purple from hydrangea. For texture and an loose look, use berries in deep shades of red with green foliage.
  • Soft Blush Tones

    • Create an elegant statement at your wedding if you choose pale blush colors for flowers and accents. Colors can range from soft pink to soft peach and ivory. Add touches of pearl to accent. Roses are a good choice to enhance a blush color scheme, as there are a myriad of hues of soft-toned roses. Your florist can direct you to the best varieties.
  • Red is Always Romantic

    • Red roses say "I Love You" and are very appropriate for weddings at any time of the year. Especially in the winter, red looks wonderful with berries and pine greenery and black or red gowns on the attendants. Red is also found in tulips, peonies, gerbera daisies, ranunculus, carnations, lilies, and camellias.
  • Nothing But Pink

    • For a very romantic and feminine celebration, pink is beautiful. Choose one shade of pink or use many shades from brights to pales. Roses come in a wide range of pinks, or try ranunculas, sweet peas, camellias, hydrangeas, foxglove, snapdragons, dahlias, and bright gerbera daisies.
  • Purple, Lime Green, White

    • For a dramatic, lively look to your day, choose colors with real punch. Purple, lime green, and bright pinks look crisp and fresh! Hydrangea, roses, lilacs, hyacinth, iris, pansies, stock, delphinium, lisianthus, lavender, and mums grow in shades of purple. Lime greens will add brightness

Just about any beautiful color scheme that you'd use in your home is appropriate for a wedding. Here are some more of our favorite choices for colors for a wedding.

  • Yellow

    • Summer brides might choose flowers in happy shades of yellow. Remember to choose a range of yellows that has enough contrast to the shade of bridal gown. Spring blossoms include tulips and daffodils. Happy daisies, sunflowers, freesia, ranunculas, dahlias, zinnias, day lilies, buttery roses, and alstromeria offer an array of yellow blossoms. Add a touch of blue hydrangea and beautiful greens for extra interest and texture.
  • Green Pairs With Any Other Color

    • Using an array of greenery from plants and flowers and some or a few flowers in shades of green, you have the foundation of a beautiful color scheme. You can find shades of light greens in tulip leaves, ivory, hostas, hydrangea, orchids, and green parrot tulips. Find silver greens in eucalyptus. Dark green tones are in ivy, leather leaf ferns, rose leaves, camellia leaves, and magnolia leaves. Leave the greens alone or add subtle shades of your favorite colors.
  • Shades of Blue

    • Blue has long been one of the favorite colors for interior decorating, so it just seems natural that brides would want to include blue in their wedding color scheme. This would be especially appropriate for outdoor weddings where the sky or water would be an important element in the setting. Add the cool, serene tones of blues with cornflowers, hydrangea, delphinium, iris, or agapanthus. Use shades of pink or add bright greens for interest.
  • Passionate Purple

    • Purple bridesmaids' dresses look elegant and regal, but beware! Dark purple flowers can get "lost" in a dark room. Choose flowers in brighter, lighter shades of purple so that they show off as you want. It might be a good idea to "test" the color before you make the final decision to have purple as a dominant color in your decor.
  • Black and White

    • For the ultimate in sophistication, dress the bridesmaids in beautiful black gowns and the men in handsome black tuxedos. The bride can wear snow white or any shade of ivory or candlelight. Add sparkle if desired, or stay with the simple elegance. Flowers can be all white or any tone that enhances the sophisticated look. Table decorations can be silver or gold, or any color of the rainbow.

Beautiful dresses and flowers can be found in so many colors that you're bound to create a color scheme that expresses your personality. With everything coordinated, you'll have a beautiful wedding celebration.

I Hope she dont mind having the pic here..and please visit her website if you interested with her service. I think she also do wedding cakes...and I'm not sure her price range..should be reasonable I think..:)

I have these beautiful pictures from beautifulthingstoshare.blogspot.com . Like the color used and also the way they add things to make the rooms look sooo cozy. Not too much of everything....so pretty...

So..why not today...we share some tips on room deco. Something that you can do it yourself..

If you have the time..Paint the walls warm colours and try to steer away from harsh colours on the walls or floor. White is a very neutral colour, and good colours also include cream or pastel colours. Harsh colours will make your room look smaller.

Use white, cotton bedspreed, and find a simple quilt-set that suits your taste..and also something that can bring the romantic feeling...maybe something with lace/small beads..and try to avoid satin ..its toooo shiny....normally not my choice in deco. :)

To make your comforter more fluffy, buy a good quality comforter or you can use 2 comforter with your quiltcover set. I've tried this before... and i luv the result..

Opt for nice pillow...Goose or duck feathers make the best filling because they are light and fluffy. They also look much nicer and last longer. Yess...I know its a little bit expensive.. but if you buy them during SALES..they wont cost you that much...worth buying I say ..:)

If your mattress sits atop a bare box spring or mattress base, consider adding a bed skirt. No, a bed skirt doesn't have to be flouncy; you can find bed skirts to match just about any décor style, from the traditional ruffled versions to more modern tailored versions. Alternatively, make your bed skirt. All you need is enough fabric to wrap around the mattress base

I love this backdrop deco for the bedhead...something that we normally used in Malay Wedding decorations... but somehow the material and the additional touch of the fairy lights really make it look soo sweet. deepy deppy luv it...:)

Or can have something simple like a long flower arrangement at the back of your bedhead as the backdrop...opt for something different, never say no to something new..it might turn up beautifully!

Add finishing touches to the bed, such as cushions. Try and get some that blend in with the colours of the room or else buy something accordingly to your theme color. something with lace, embroidery and beads..or maybe something that have the luxury look..a little of luxury wont do any harm..sometimes..i prefer it that way..it bring up the 'look' . Just perfect !

And last but not least....add some accessories to your bedroom...candles, flowers..lily is a good choice coz I love the smell of it. Please make sure if you want to lightup the candles...put them in a proper candle stand ( like tall clear vases ). And another thing...about petals ( roses ). If you use plain white comforter, do avoid putting fresh rose petals on top of it. It stains. If you still want to have petals on the bed..you can either be very2veryyy careful or you can use the artificial petals instead...

Add something to bring up your own personality in the decoration....such as picture of you and your fiance...in black and white..hanging by the side of the bed. Or maybe a nice aromatheraphy candle with your favourite essence, ermmm....even your favourite romantic love novel ... hehehehe .

So.... there you have the new look for your bedroom...something simple and cozy.Do plan early so that you have the time to get everything in the list. You can do all the decoration by yourself and save few hundreds on that...one at a time...if you know what you want...start 'hunting' as early as possible...and be creative galss !

Anything wanna add to the tips??.....feel free to leave your comment down below ...

best of luck....
