Earlier...someone asked me to suggest what are the items suitable for engagement... and also for akad nikah.

It is advisable for you to plan what are the items that u wish to be included in your hantaran for both occasion or you might end up giving unnecessary things.. .

 

Lets start with engagement. Normally the no of hantaran will be either 3/5 ( 3 dulang from the guy side , 5 dulang from the gal side ). Tapi kalau 3 rasa sikittt nyerrrrr....then 5/7 is another option...  :D 

 

 

According to malay culture, we will bring tepak sireh along( sebagai pembuka bicara ) and its not included in the hantaran list. What about sireh junjung ? that depends. From my personal opinion...maybe you can exclude that for engagement and reserve it for akad nikah ( since you already bringing tepak sireh ). Still if both party wish to have sireh junjung...why not. :)

 

For other items during engagment...better to have more edible things ( refer to the list below )..Reserve all the special gifts for Akad nikah.

 

Just pick, mix n match any items listed below...make a list asap and also your budget limit..PLEASE...stick to it ya ;) hehehe..or you might endup buying a lot of things and using only some or worse...overspent!. Pembaziran yg harus dielakkan.

For Akad nikah..normally it will be 7/9 ( 7 dulang from Groom, 9 from Bride ) or 9 dulang /11dulang .  Most important thing is the ring..why? because you will be wearing it for the rest of your life together...right? Insyallah..:)In my personal opinion..better have less dulang..but nice things..rather than soooo many dulang with unnessesary things.

 

Example : you ada budget untuk beli 4 brg...like watch,hbag,perfume and shoes. Since you dah ada kasut berlambak2 lagi yg still in box..why not gunakan budget kasut tu...letak dlm budget hbag...boleh upgrade bag GUESS beli bag COACH ke...gegegeggege....( ini hanya contoh yer...jgn ckp kat your fiance akak ajar camnie plak tau ) :D

 

Thats why adviseble...make a list and budget for each item.. it will make your life easier and also happier for sure.

 

 

 

 

I normally arrange the ring together with duit mas kawin. And place the duit hantaran on another dulang by itself ( from groom to bride ).Can be cash,bank draft or cheque. You can decide to have this items as a part of the hantaran list or make it as a different set of special gifts for your bride.:)..thus allowing other nice items to be added in the list.. Just remember...during akad nikah.. this 2 items must be at the groom side ( cincin & mas kawin , duit hantaran )..Tok Kadi need to see these before the ceremony begins.

 

 

TIPS for the day

 

1. Buy things that u need and like ONLY! ... no use having a nice 4 inch heels that will be out of the box  only once a year

2. start Shopping as early as possible...:). survey around for best offer.

3. Be alert for MEGASALE..you can save hundreds

4. Shop online ... they normally offer better price

5. Ask for any sponsors...:)..skrg bukan masanyer untuk malu dan segan..hehehe...but ask politely pleasee... Who knows you have a nice,caring and rich siblings/best friends/aunties/buddy or boss. At least a nice pretty cake would do ! BUT make sure he/she have the same taste or you might not like what you get then..:D.
